What A Wonderful World

I see a book of blue, and parts of white,
The Condominium Bluebook, an informational delight
And I think to myself
What A Wonderful World

Louis Armstrong had it right.  While he may not have been talking about the Riverside County Law Library, we do have a wonderful assortment of tools to help you in your legal research and practice.

One such treasure trove is the 2015 Condominium Bluebook, which can be found at all 3 branches of RCLL. Don’t let this title fool you.  It is a veritable legal guide to the world of a homeowners association. It is not just for condos.

One of the more important laws governing homeowners’ associations, the Davis-Stirling Common Interest Development Act, can be found in chapter 2.  It details requirements necessary to the creation and operation of common interest developments.

Also take a look at California Civil Code sections 4000-6150, while you’re in the library.  The Davis-Stirling Act was re-codified, effective January 1st, 2014.

In the back of the book are relevant California judicial decisions, forms and checklists.  This book also has a cool section on Parliamentary Procedure, taken from Roberts Rules of Order. (another interesting book found at our libraries – but that’s a story for another day!) This procedure can be used at any organizational meeting.

Stop in any of our locations and ask for this gem, KFC 144.5 .C6, in our reference section.  You won’t be disappointed and may even leave humming “It’s A Wonderful Life”!
