As states and cities begin to reopen, we want to share with you how we are thinking about reopening. It cannot be overstated that the safety and well-being of our employees and customers are our top priority. It is for this reason that we are taking a mindful and phased approach to reopening the law library to the public. Our goal is to align the law library’s reopening with the reopening of the Riverside County courts and surrounding public libraries. We will also adopt a new service model to ensure that you will feel safe and comfortable when you are in the law library. When we do reopen, you can expect a new service model to include the following:
Public service hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 4:0 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Use of the Victor Miceli Law Library will be by appointment only via our website, by phone or email.
The number of customers allowed to be in the law library will be limited.
Library use will be limited to two hours per customer.
Library use will be for legal research purposes and law-related activities only.
Customers will be expected to wear facial covering while in the library.
Only three computers will be available to customers to maintain 6 feet distance between customers.
Print collection will be in closed stacks available for retrieval and re-shelving by staff only, to allow 72-hour quarantine of all print materials prior to each customer’s use.
Contactless customer pick-up of MCLE material/s.
Our safe reopening plan will continue to evolve and be aligned with recent changes in CDC guidelines, state, and local government mandates. Public comments and suggestions can be submitted via email to lawlibrary.riverside@rclawlibrary.org.
We look forward to seeing you, hopefully soon. Be safe and stay connected.
