Free Legal Clinic for National Library Week

In celebration of National Library Week at the Ronald H. Roberts Temecula Public Library the Temecula Law Resource Center hosted a Free Legal Clinic on April 12, 2016 from 10am-2pm. The clinic highlighted the growing need for legal assistance in the community. Patrons had a wide variety of legal questions ranging from family law, estate planning, landlord/tenant and many more areas of law. Free and Open Access to the Law

The mission of the Riverside County Law Library is to “enable everyone in Riverside County to perform the highest level of research and practice through free and open access to the law.” Surely, this is a worthy goal but in a more practical sense what does this mission statement require of me as part of this Library organization?  What should I do and how far should I go in order to attain this goal for our patrons?  Also, what is free and open access to the law?
